Biography

Eoghan O’Flanagan is a British professional grappler and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, widely regarded as one of the most technical submission specialists to emerge from the European scene. Born in London, he is best known for his creative leg lock system and aggressive guard.

Eoghan O’Flanagan rose to international prominence after his breakout performance at the 2022 ADCC World Championships, where he finished fourth in the -88kg division. His career highlights include winning the ADCC European Trials in 2021, capturing multiple Grapplefest titles, and competing at elite events such as CJI 1 and Polaris.

His technical style emphasizes a submission-first philosophy built around aggressive leg attacks, particularly the inside and outside heel hook, as well as the straight ankle lock. O’Flanagan is also known for his innovative half-butterfly system, which he uses to generate constant leg entanglements, sweeps, and dynamic submission entries.
