Dorian Olivarez is an American submission grappler known for his relentless pace, powerful wrestling, and high-level guard passing. One of the top young prospects in modern no-gi jiu-jitsu, Olivarez built his reputation through explosive takedowns, nonstop pressure, and a side-to-side torreando passing style that has allowed him to overwhelm and pass the guards of elite opponents.

Olivarez was raised under the guidance of his father, Mike Olivarez, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who shaped Dorian’s development from a young age. Mike put his son through an intense, competition-focused regimen that emphasized both hard physical conditioning and technical refinement. This upbringing produced the pace, endurance, and physical toughness that now define Dorian’s competitive style.

He first entered the no-gi scene through a brief training period at B-Team Jiu-Jitsu, where he was introduced to the professional grappling circuit. Olivarez later transitioned to training under John Danaher, developing alongside Gordon Ryan and the New Wave Jiu-Jitsu team. After the team rebranded, he continued with the group at Kingsway Jiu-Jitsu, further sharpening his technique and overall game.

Known for pairing strong wrestling with fluid movement and rapid direction changes, Olivarez has emerged as a rising force in the sport.
