Biography

Pierre-Olivier Leclerc is a Canadian Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and professional no-gi submission grappler, widely regarded as one of the top representatives of the Canadian grappling scene. A black belt under Firas Zahabi, Leclerc trains and coaches out of Tristar MMA in Montreal and has built a reputation as both a high-level competitor and respected coach within the international no-gi community.

Leclerc is known for his well-rounded technical style, combining heavy top pressure with a dangerous submission arsenal. His game blends modern leglock systems with a strong positional approach, allowing him to attack from both top and guard positions. This balance between control and submission hunting has made him a consistent threat in professional no-gi competition.

Throughout his career, Leclerc has trained extensively with some of the most influential teams in submission grappling. In addition to his base at Tristar MMA, he has spent significant time training at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York under the Danaher Death Squad and has represented B-Team Jiu-Jitsu and later Simple Man Martial Arts in professional competition.

Beyond competition, Leclerc is widely respected as a coach and instructor, contributing to the growth of no-gi grappling in Canada. As of the mid-2020s, he continues to compete, teach, and represent the next generation of Canadian submission grappling talent.
